As we’re looking forward to the end of the coronavirus lockdown, many of us are undoubtedly shopping for new clothes to debut to the world.
You might think that the best clothing options come from H&M, Zara, Ted Baker, or Liberty London, but TikTok users are now looking to supermarkets for their new ‘fits’.

Yes, you heard right, supermarkets. Tesco and Sainsbury’s clothes are trending on the Gen-Z dominated app because of how surprisingly stylish they are.
Popular videos on the app show users looking through their clothing haul from Tesco and Sainsbury’s, and comparing them to the likes of Zara but at much lower prices.
The hashtag #tescoclothing currently has 1.7million views, with most videos getting a minimum several thousand views.
Users are comparing Tesco to Zara, while comparing Sainsbury’s clothes to another high-street retailer called Monki.
Tik Tok user sofiaelhaj made this distinction first, with her video receiving over 800,000 views.
Other users compared the quality of Tesco’s F&F clothing to Zara’s collection, finding that they could find very similar looking items for £5.99 instead of £26.99 without compromising on the quality of the clothes. One user, livholley, had 400,000 views on her video comparing a Tesco item to Zara.
We’re excited to see what Tesco’s F&F collection and Sainsbury’s TU collection have to offer in the future.
