The current lockdown restrictions in the UK mean that the supermarket activewear collections are some of the only ones you can take a look at in store before buying. It’s a game of location roulette, however, that will determine how good the range and presentation of the TU Move collection is in your local Sainsbury’s – although it can all be purchased online.
The supermarket’s Good TU Move campaign launches on 18th January, encouraging customers to get outdoors and start walking or cycling in their local neighbourhood. The product on offer is great for people who are heading out with this sentiment – there is a powder blue puffer coat for £25, and leggings from £14 that are opaque, in neutral, easy-to-wear colours, with the all important high-waist and moisture-wicking fabric.
Overall I think the 31-piece range is geared to be more of an ‘athleisure’ offering than an ‘activewear’ one. If high performance sportswear is what you’re after, TU isn’t for you. But for those hoping to get their gentle daily exercise in, the classic styles on offer probably can’t be beaten elsewhere on price – and size range, which spans UK 6-24. My award for best piece goes to the grey quilted jacket – warm because of the quilted panels, but with sweat-wicking fabric so it’s not uncomfortable when you heat up. Handy for a run on a freezing January morning.
